Tandem Level 1

Introductory Skydive.
Tandem Level 1 gets it all off the ground.

Tandem Level 2

Let the learning begin. More objectives in freefall and under parachute.

Tandem Level 3

More stuff to do in freefall, but the concentration is on parachute flight and landing technique.

Tandem Level 4

Your final tandem. Perfecting parachute control and landing where you want, nice and soft.

STP Level 1

Instructor assisted exit and freefall. This is your introductory solo jump, it provides the baseline.

STP Level 2

Instructor assisted exit and freefall. This jump is to correct and flaws from STP 1.

STP Level 3

Instructor assisted exit, solo freefall. After exit, you're skydiving without assistance.

STP Level 4

Upper body turns. You will learn to turn in freefall by using your upper body.

STP Level 6

Lower body turns. You will learn to turn in freefall by using your lower body.

STP Level 7

Combination turns. You combine upper and lower body techniques for more efficient turns.

Turns and docking. 360 degree freefall turns and connecting with instructor. Tracking at end.

STP Level 10

Fall rate control. You will learn to fall faster and slower relative to other jumpers.

Docking and orbiting. You will learn more complicated formations and translational movement.

STP Level 12

Back flips. Now that you have good control, its time to start doing flips. Tracking at end.

STP Level 13

Front flips. The fun continues with front flips. Levels 12, 13, and 14 teach you to recover stability.

STP Level 14

Barrel rolls. The last stability recovery maneuver has you rolling completely over sideways.

STP Level 15

Challenge jump. Back flip, front flip, barrel roll, 360ยบ turn, dock, and track away at the end.

About Prices for Chicago Skydive Training

Learning to skydive is something you don't do without proper instruction (otherwise it isn't learning to skydive, it is suicide). Our program brings you to a level of skills that exceed the USPAs minimum skills for an "A" license.

The total cost for jumps after your tandems is $3503.00 if you do not need to repeat any levels. On average, 50% of students repeat one level, it is rare to repeat more than one. If you repeated one level, your total cost (after your tandems) would be $3592.00. We do offer a pre-pay option at a discount over pay-as-you-go .

There are a few other additional costs for learning to skydive:

  1. 1. Your solo skydiving initial ground school class: This 6+ hour class costs $60.00
  2. 2. Your USPA membership: This is paid directly to the USPA prior to STP level 5 and costs $65.00
  3. 3. Your solo skydiving freefall class: This class reinforces the ground school class and adds valuable information. This 2+ hour class costs $20.00
  4. 4. Your parachute packing class: You must pack a parachute without assistance and jump with that parachute. This 4+ hour class costs $45.00
  5. 5. Your USPA "A" license fee: This is paid directly to the USPA after your 25th jump and costs $30.00

So if one did not repeat any levels, their total cost (after tandems) would be $3723.00. We understand that learning to skydive is not cheap (remember we had to pay to learn just like you). What you may not understand yet is how rewarding the training is.
Not only do you learn to skydive, but you learn to look at life in a different way.
Skydiving is total freedom.
